Beautiful smile – veneers, Componeers

A beautiful smile that shows off beautiful teeth is very important for self-confidence. Covering teeth with ceramics quickly makes the row of teeth even. We recommend considering this if you have:

  • Many visible fillings of different ages in the smile area;
  • Significantly discoloured teeth.
  • Minor misalignment of individual teeth that for some reason cannot be corrected with orthodontic appliances.

Which option is preferable for the problems listed above?

More pronounced problems need to be solved with DENTAL CROWNS or VENEERS. The result is long-lasting and aesthetically beautiful. The downside is that the tooth has to be ground down quite thoroughly.

A COMPONEER is a prefabricated composite shell, made in a dental materials factory, that came onto the market a few years ago. The shell is fixed to the patient’s tooth in a single visit with a light-curing material. A componeer stays on the tooth better than an extensive composite filling. However, compared with veneers and Lumineers, it ages faster and will definitely need to be replaced within 6–7 years.

What does fitting dental crowns and veneers involve?

We always start with a consultation. During the consultation the dentist can assess the condition of your teeth and, together with you, choose the most suitable solution. We always recommend bringing a picture of your ideal smile. A picture says more than a thousand words and gives the dentist an idea of your expectations. For larger treatments, impressions are taken and sent to the laboratory for a wax-up, so that we can show you the result that can realistically be achieved. This can also be shown digitally, but a physical model is needed too.

The next stage is grinding the teeth, taking impressions and covering the ground teeth with temporary crowns. The temporary crowns are already made in the shape you want for the final result. This way you can get used to the new situation until the ceramic veneers/crowns arrive from the laboratory. At this stage you can still ask the dentist for changes and influence the final result.

As the final stage, the veneers/crowns are fixed to the teeth with a special cement
